The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme last week celebrated this year’s FA Girls’ Football Week by putting on various events and experiences to encourage more girls to take part in football.
The Community Programme worked in partnership with Sheffield Primary and Secondary schools to arrange mini-tournaments, coaching sessions and matchday experiences for girls to get involved in.
Isobel Dunn, Premier League Coordinator for the Community Programme, said: "It's been great to work with Sheffield schools to promote girls football and we've seen some great talent over the week. The participants really enjoyed themselves and we hope it's raised the profile of girl's football in the area."
More than 100 girls took part in the different activities during the week and the Community Programme looks forward to working with them again in the future.
