George Hirst extended his international pedigree on Sunday but suffered disappointment as the England Under-17s lost 1-0 in the quarter finals of the European Championships in Baku.
England bossed long periods of the game but were ultimately ousted by a first half goal from Francisco Garcia.
Mason Mount, Dujon Sterling and Owls youngster Hirst each went close to forcing an equaliser but Spain held out and will face Germany in the semi finals on Wednesday.
