Important travel information for Brighton v Owls

15 May 2016

Sheffield Wednesday have received the following travel information ahead of the Owls’ trip to the Amex on Monday evening:

We have been advised by Southern Rail that due to staff shortages, they expect severe disruption on Monday evening to their regular services, and that they are unable to provide their usual matchday service.

Southern will be attempting to run their timetabled service, but we have been warned to expect cancellations. Therefore we are advising fans, wherever possible to seek alternative modes of transport, as listed below.

Additionally, due to the possibility of the match going to extra time, and to penalties, the match may finish later than usual. Fans are advised that after 10.30pm Southern Rail will ONLY be running their usual timetabled operation. So please plan for this eventuality, and be patient if queuing at Falmer Station at the end of the match .

BUS

There is a full matchday bus service in operation.

PARK & RIDE

All three park & ride sites will be in operation from 5pm, but will be busy so please allow extra time for your travel during rush hour. We do have additional capacity at Brighton Racecourse, but note there is an afternoon race meeting, which is likely to mean additional traffic in the area ahead of the match; although it is expected to be cleared by 5.30pm.

Thank you for your co-operation.
