It will be an honour

17 May 2016

Glenn Loovens says leading out the Owls at Wembley will be a great honour.

Wednesday will compete in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final on Saturday 28 May after overcoming Brighton in the semi finals.

And the skipper cannot wait for the huge occasion in the capital and said:

“It means a lot to me. I said earlier that these are the games you watch as a kid and just want to play in.

“To walk the team out at Wembley in the final will be a great honour and we will do it justice.”

Loovens believes the Owls more than deserve their shot at gaining a place in the Premier League in the showpiece final and continued:

“We have worked really hard all season long, it wasn’t the best of games on our part last night, especially in the first half.

“They were on top but we stuck together as a team, grinded it out and even got a goal before half time.

“We were the better team in the first leg and they were the better team in the second but in the end all that matters was to get to the final and I’m delighted we did.”
