Owls set to make changes for Wolves

5 May 2016

With one eye on the play-offs, Carlos Carvalhal has confirmed he will make changes to the team on Saturday.

But the head coach has stressed that the philosophy will remain the same and the focus for the Owls is to round the season off with three points at Molineux.

Saturday’s match will allow Carlos to field some fringe players who have been kept out of the side only by the superb form of the regular starters.

Two players that will play no part this weekend are Fernando Forestieri and Sam Hutchinson.

He said: “We are preparing for the Wolves game, we are focused on the team that will play on Saturday.

“We trained yesterday and focused only on the 11 players that will start on Saturday.

“Today we did exactly the same so we prepare the team, in the specific way we are doing with the players that will play.

“If you ask me if we have on our mind to recover players or do some type of training to the players that will not play on Saturday, we are doing this of course.

“But the most important at the moment is the game on Saturday, it’s what we are putting our energy into.”

Already assured sixth place, the Owls face one final league fixture before entering into the end of season lottery and Carlos has confirmed that Fernando Forestieri and Sam Hutchinson will be amongst those omitted from the matchday squad.

“These are two players I can say in public that I am protecting the both.

“After this, we will choose the best 11 players to play the game understanding that there are players not playing during the season that deserve absolutely to play.”
