After the project’s success the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme has launched a new walking football session at the club’s training ground.
Led by fully qualified coaches the sessions aim to get those back to playing football who had to stop due to injury.
Walking football is non-contact and anyone that sprints, runs or jogs whilst the ball is in play is penalised with a free-kick awarded to the other team.
The new session, initially running for six weeks, takes place on Friday afternoons between 1:30 – 2:30pm at Middlewood Road at just £1 per session.
