Almost 11 years ago, Wednesday – who finished fifth in League 1 – went head to head with fourth-place finishers Brentford at Hillsborough.
During the regular season, Wednesday were defeated 2-1 at Hillsborough by the Bees and drew 3-3 in the reverse fixture in the capital.
But those games were a distant memory when the play-offs came around and the Owls emerged from the home leg at Hillsborough with a crucial advantage.
The game was settled by a single goal from Jon-Paul McGovern before the Owls made sure of their place in the final, with a 2-1 win at Griffin Park four days later.
