Lees focused on Owls response

7 November 2016

Tom Lees says the Owls will work hard during the international break to put right the wrongs from Saturday’s defeat to Ipswich.

Wednesday will travel to Fulham in the first game back after the two-week gap on 19 November.

Both sides are level on 24 points, just two outside of the top six but in the meantime it’s back to work for Wednesday at Middlewood Road and Lees said:

“It’s the international break now, we’ll get on the training pitch, we’ve got two weeks to improve and obviously we’ve got a very big game now when we get back against Fulham.

“When you lose, you just want your next game to come around as quickly as possible but we’ll have to wait now which isn’t ideal.”

The Owls completed an impressive treble over the Cottagers last season, home and away in the Championship and once in the FA Cup.

Looking for a positive result this time around, Lees continued: “The only way we can respond to the disappointment on Saturday is by getting back out on the pitch.

“You’ve got two choices; let it affect you or come out and fight and turn it around. That’s what we have to do.”
