Strong as a collective

29 November 2016

Carlos Carvalhal has underlined the importance of a strong collective within the camp.

For the head coach, amongst the many positives that came from victory over Wolves on Saturday was the collective organisation of the team.

He explained: “The team was all the time compact, very solid in the defensive organisation, the collective organisation and they were all the time looking to the third goal.

“We closed very well the way to Westwood but all the time we were a threat to the Wolves goal.”

When pressed on individual performances during the post-match press conference, the response from Carlos was to emphasise the importance of the team, and said:

“Not individuals but all the team. All the team. Westwood, the defenders, the midfielders, the attackers and the players that go inside from the bench created an impact on the game.

“When we play like a team we are strong and we are in a good way.

“We are better than last season, the big difference was the efficiency but we have found a way to score goals.

“The level of the football is very high, we are playing really very well and are in a very good way. I hope we can stay like this all the season.”
