Yesterdays: Victory for Wednesday at Wolves

22 November 2016

The Owls head to Wolves on Saturday looking to end a ten-year wait for a three-point haul in the West Midlands.

A Marcus Tudgay double and a strike from Deon Burton earned Wednesday the win at Molineux on 25 March 2006.

Tudgay set the ball rolling for the Owls just before the break, smashing first time into the roof of the net but soon after the restart, Wolves were back level with Carl Cort heading home the equaliser.

Wednesday then regained their advantage in impressive fashion through Burton, who controlled wonderfully from a long punt forward before firing past Stefan Postma.

And Tudgay made sure of the points in the final few moments with a cool finish from 18 yards.

The Owls have since failed to win in their last six visits to Molineux, managing one point in that time – a 2-2 draw in the 2006/07 season, with Wade Small and Chris Brunt on target for the visitors.

Keep up to date with all the action this weekend by following the Owls across our social media platforms and on Wednesday PlayerHD – also available on the go via your mobile and tablet devices.
