Sheffield Wednesday, on behalf of chairman Dejphon Chansiri, would like to add the club’s condolences to those sent to Thailand worldwide following the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

The king, aged 88, was the longest reigning monarch in the world, with 70 years on the throne.

Prime Minister of Thailand, Prayut Chan-ocha, said: "He is now in heaven and may be looking over Thai citizens from there.”

It is widely recognised that King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who was hailed for his skills as a diplomat and ability to reach out to ordinary people in Thailand, leaves the country's monarchy far stronger than it was at his accession in June, 1946.

As a mark of respect, flags at Hillsborough will fly at half-mast for 30 days.
