The Owls Under-18s came from behind to post a comprehensive 4-1 win over Bolton on Saturday at Middlewood Road.
Having gone a goal down largely against the run of play, Wednesday responded superbly before the break to level the game.
A wonderful Joe West centre was met with a powerful George Hirst header to get back on terms and it wasn’t long after the interval before the Owls went ahead.
Following a fluid Wednesday move upfield, Hirst slipped through for Jordan Lonchar, who dropped his shoulder in the box and calmly slotted home with a crisp left foot finish.
Hirst glanced home from another terrific West delivery to put the Owls 3-1 up and it was via a similar route the Owls notched a fourth, to add extra gloss to the score.
West whipped a dangerous ball into the box from a free kick out on the right and Lonchar was on hand to head home his second of the game.
