The Owls resume their Sky Bet EFL Championship campaign on Saturday against Wigan following the international break.

Wednesday went into the break on the back of a dramatic comeback at Griffin Park that saw Sam Hutchinson head home at last-gasp equaliser.

Carlos Carvalhal said after the game: “Last season we had a turning point when we lost to Burnley and I think this game is the same, we showed how we are a team, together.”

And the head coach will want to see more of the same this weekend as the Latics come to Hillsborough.

Gary Caldwell’s side suffered back to back defeats before the international break and have lost three from three away from home this season.

The two sides haven’t met since the 2014/15 season when an Atdhe Nuhiu header settled a close-fought clash at the DW Stadium to complete an impressive double over the Latics.
