Barry Bannan says he relishes the competition in the Owls’ midfield.
The Scotland international believes the added quality in the squad brings out the best in every player and told swfc.co.uk:
“We have got good competition in the midfield and that will keep everybody on their toes which is good going forward.
“If you’re not performing then you can find yourself out of the team and I enjoy that competition.
“It brings out the best in your players and everyone fighting for this club.”
Bannan – who has featured in all ten of the Owls’ Championship fixtures and once for Scotland this season – added:
“We have got a bit of everything from all the midfielders at the club.
“There are players who can give you width, there’s pace, there’s goals, there’s strong defending so we have got a bit of everything.
“It’s the gaffer’s job to pick the players and it’s ours to try and force our way into the team and be ready when we’re called upon.”
