Carlos praise for Owls fans

13 September 2016

Going a goal down inside the opening few moments was a setback for the Owls against Wigan but Carlos Carvalhal says the supporters played a crucial role from that moment.

The head coach believes the positive environment the fans created aided his side’s comeback and expects more of the same this evening.

Ahead of the clash with Bristol City, Carlos says the fans will continue to play a big role explaining:

“After the Wigan game, I must talk about the fans.

“They were very important because when a team in our circumstance is losing 1-0 in the first minutes, we appreciated the positive environment they created.

“They created an environment for us to win the game, they supported the players, they pushed the players and in response, the players rose to that and gave their maximum.

“The product of that support was us finishing the game feeling all our players were gladiators and they gave everything back to the fans.”

He continued: “We talked about the way we played against Brentford, not just the players but the fans and everybody being together.

“It makes a massive difference. I am sure that the Bristol City game will be the same.”
