Confidence in the group

27 September 2016

With three wins from four in September, Sheffield Wednesday head to Ewood Park today full of confidence.

And by the manner in which the points have come, the Owls’ spirit, character and determination has been evident.

Wednesday have gained ten points from losing positions since the August clash with Brentford, including another dramatic win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

But irrespective of that victory at the weekend – the Owls’ third home win on the bounce – Sam Hutchinson says confidence is always high in the squad as he explained:

“I think we’re always confident. Even if we’re coming into a game on the back of a loss, we are confident.

“We have a game plan for every game, we stick to it and we are confident. That’s the way we are.

“I think as a collective unit, we are able to do things better this year because we know each other better and we’ve brought in more quality.”

Wednesday will be looking for their first win away from home this evening and looking ahead to the trip to Blackburn, Hutchinson added:

“I think it will be very difficult. Obviously going away in the Championship is never easy.

“Blackburn have stepped up things from the beginning of the season and you can see from their last results they have picked up a few wins.

“It’s always difficult to go to Ewood Park but like I said, we’ll go there with confidence and we look forward to the game.”
