The Owls head to Blackburn this evening and it’s a fixture that has not disappointed in recent years.
The last five meetings between the two sides has seen no less than 19 goals plundered.
Here, swfc.co.uk takes a look at what has gone before….
Saturday 12 April 2014 – The Owls found themselves 3-1 down at Hillsborough with 18 minutes left of the contest.
Goals from Jordan Rhodes, Craig Conway and Michael Keane looked to have earned the visitors three points but a late, late Atdhe Nuhiu double secured an unlikely point for Wednesday.
The trip to Ewood Park on Saturday 6 December 2014 was memorable for all the right reasons.
An early Kieran Lee strike was cancelled out by Alex Baptiste but an injury time winner from substitute Claude Dielna gave the travelling army of Wednesdayites plenty to be cheerful for come full time.
Goals from Rhodes and Adam Henley saw Rovers take all three points in the return fixture.
The Owls had to come from behind twice in our last trip to Ewood Park.
Wednesday went behind in the fifth minute to a Hope Akpan headed goal before Modou Sougou levelled with his third goal of the campaign.
Corry Evans’ deflected effort flew past Keiren Westwood before the break but again, the Owls hit back with just six minutes to go as Lucas Joao glanced home from six yards.
Blackburn went ahead in the return fixture at Hillsborough through Conway after 46 minutes but the game quickly turned in favour of the hosts.
Wednesday drew level through an Adam Henley own goal on 51 minutes before Rovers’ goalscorer Conway was dismissed two minutes later.
Ross Wallace then completed the comeback, hitting home on the volley from a Fernando Forestieri centre.
