Most dramatic yet

Kieran Lee has reflected on one of the most dramatic evenings of his career as the Owls came from two goals down against Bristol City to win 3-2.

Steven Fletcher and Barry Bannan goals either side of a Sam Hutchinson red card, Lee Tomlin penalty miss and Gary O’Neil dismissal, brought the game level at 2-2.

Then deep, deep into added time, Lee showed fantastic composure to take control of the ball inside the 18-yard box before calmly slotting home to send Hillsborough into a frenzy.

After the game he said: “It was an unbelievable moment, one of the best of my career.

“The emotions when the ball went in the net were surreal. We always believe we can get back into games, even tonight at 2-0 down.

“But to score the winning goal and see the reaction of the fans was unbelievable. It’s a night I won’t forget.”

The midfield man enjoyed a similar moment during the 2014/15 season when he popped up with a stoppage time winner against Rotherham at The New York Stadium.

Hard to compare the two feelings, he told swfc.co.uk: “They are similar in terms of what time the goals went in but tonight’s has the edge for me because it was at Hillsborough.

“You always want to score goals at home in front of your own fans. It looked for a long time that we wouldn’t be getting anything from this game but we showed what we are all about.

“It’s great to get the goal but the win is the most important and I’m just delighted for everyone here tonight.”
