With four wins from five in September and a number of standout candidates, it’s down to Owls fans to decide who wins the swfc.co.uk Player of the Month award.
Following the first international break of the campaign, Wednesday began September with a come from behind victory over Wigan.
Steven Fletcher struck his first Owls goal of the campaign to level before Fernando Forestieri completed the comeback.
It was a similar story next time out, though with much more drama attached.
Wednesday fell two down at home to Bristol City but goals from Fletcher and Barry Bannan brought the game back level.
Deep into added time, Kieran Lee then grabbed the headlines with a precious winner in front of the Kop.
The Owls then tasted defeat on the road to Birmingham before another nail-biting Hillsborough clash with Nottingham Forest finished 2-1 to the hosts.
Having fallen behind to a deflected Henri Lansbury first half strike, a double from Lee on his 150th Owls appearance sealed another dramatic comeback.
The winner came once again in stoppage time at the end of the 90 as the midfielder swept the ball into the net from Fletcher’s low centre.
To cap off a productive month, the Owls then registered their first away win of the season against Blackburn with a thunderous first half effort from Fletcher the difference on the night.
The swfc.co.uk September Player of the Month will be announced on Friday.
