Out for five games but back with a bang.
Fernando Forestieri was delighted to make a return to action on Good Friday.
Wednesday’s leading marksman came off the bench and scored the crucial goal as the Owls bagged all three points from the clash with Cardiff.
After the game, he said: “I’m so happy to be back but the most important thing was the three points because we need them.
“For me, this goal was very special. I have worked so hard this month so I want to say thank you for all the support from the staff and the fans.
“I was always positive about the injury, I hoped to come back strong and to help the team because that is the important thing.”
Wednesday now head to Loftus Road on Easter Monday and ahead of the clash with QPR, Forestieri added:
“We want to be in the play-offs, we need to be at our best but we feel positive and I think we are playing well.
“We knew Cardiff would be difficult but it’s three important points for us. We need to be strong for the last few games and we look forward.”
