Ross Wallace wants the victory in midweek to serve as a springboard to more points and performances, now firmly into the business end of the campaign.

The Scot, who returned from injury to play his part in the 2-0 win over Rotherham on Tuesday, says the Owls are concentrated solely on themselves and no one else.

Wednesday’s fate in terms of a top six finish is in the club’s own hands and the winger has called upon the fans ahead of the Hillsborough clash with Newcastle at the weekend.

“It’s going to be a massive game, a lot of fans in the stadium and they will be right at it, we know that.

“The win on Tuesday will give us a big lift, it was a tricky game at Rotherham, considering that have been relegated.

“We came through a sticky patch in the last few weeks so it was good to get that win.

“Hopefully that will kick us on now, it was a good performance and we were right at it from the start.”

The Sky cameras will again be present in S6 as the Owls host the Magpies on Saturday and Wallace concluded:

“We just want to concentrate on ourselves and our performances, we just want to win games and see where that takes us.

“It will be a really tough match because they are a good side but we’re a good team also and we’re looking forward.”
