Owls duo honoured

27 April 2017

With two games of the regular campaign left to play, the end of season awards have already begun and Keiren Westwood and Sam Hutchinson have been amongst the winners.

First up, ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Derby last weekend, Owls goalkeeper Westwood was presented with the first award of the campaign.

He was named as the Chester & North Wales Branch Player of the Year.

The SWFC supporter group reformed this season for the first time since 1998/99.

They chose Westwood as their winner and group members Iwan Roberts, Stephen Smith, Emily Roberts and Jonathan Smith (pictured above) presented the Republic of Ireland international with the shield pitchside.

Hutchinson has also won a string of end of season awards.

The combative midfield man has been named the Wise Old Owls and London Owls Player of the Year.

On Wednesday evening, at the annual Star Football Awards ceremony, the 27-year-old was named as the Sheffield Star SWFC Player of the Year.

Voting for the official swfc.co.uk Player of the Year will begin soon so keep your eyes peeled!
