Remembering the 96

14 April 2017

The annual memorial service commemorating the Hillsborough disaster will take place on Saturday, 15 April at 2.55pm.

The service will mark the 28th anniversary of the disaster in which 96 men, women and children lost their lives attending the FA Cup semi final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest in 1989.

The permanent memorial on Parkside Road adjacent to the club's main entrance will host the service, which includes a minute’s silence and prayers for those who died.

SWFC chairman Dejphon Chansiri will lay a wreath on behalf of Sheffield Wednesday FC.

Everyone at the club would like to express ongoing sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives and the wider Liverpool community affected so deeply by the events of 1989.

* Please note there will be road closures at the main entrance to the stadium from 2.45pm for approximately 45 minutes.
