Working for each other

30 April 2017

“Everyone is playing really, really well. Right through the spine, everyone is doing their jobs and when you look beside you, you know your team mate is not going to let you down."

Those were the thoughts of Owls right back Jack Hunt following a key afternoon in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday.

Wednesday secured a place in the top six with a 1-0 win at Ipswich – their sixth success on the spin.

Kieran Lee’s goal 13 minutes from time made sure Wednesday will do battle in the play-offs for the second consecutive campaign.

Hunt says it is a fantastic feeling to have achieved this before the final game of the season, explaining:

"We said before the game, let’s go and work hard because Ipswich are a tough team, we had to show them respect.

“But we knew the longer we stayed in the game, we would create chances - keep a clean sheet and we'll score and that's what happened.

"It's nice to get over the line, we've played really well recently and we've done what we had to do.

“It's a great feeling to confirm the place in the play-offs.”
