Wednesday’s search for their maiden win of the campaign goes on after back-to-back home draws but given the level of the performances, Carlos Carvalhal says there is a good vibe in the team.
The Owls went a goal down in both the QPR and Sunderland fixtures but fought back strongly to post a point in each.
Wednesday’s second half display against the Black Cats, which saw David Jones rifle home from range to salvage a draw, was full of positives and Carlos said:
“Even though we didn’t win the last two games, the way that we play, the way we reacted after taking a goal means that the vibe of the team is strong, we are strong and we feel strong.
“Only teams that are strong can react the way we have, especially last game against a very good team of the competition.”
Next up for the Owls is a trip to last season’s play-off semi finalists Fulham.
The Cottagers, too, are searching for their first Championship win of the season after drawing their opening three games.
Like Wednesday, Fulham advanced in the Carabao Cup against League 2 opposition, with Slavisa Jokanovic’s side defeating Wycombe Wanderers.
Carlos added: “It will be an interesting game, it’s always very difficult to play against Fulham. They are with a good team.
“They are bringing more players, they have upgraded the team, we know it will be tough like all the games are in the Championship
“From our part we will make it very difficult to them absolutely sure.”
