As part of our 150th anniversary celebrations, the Owls will be attempting no less than a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title next week.
On Sunday 3 September ahead of Owls in the Park 2017, the club’s catering team, led by Head Chef Rob Cox, will try and build the ‘Largest cake ball’ the world has ever seen!
To be officially recognised, the cake ball must be made on the same day and supporters are invited to attend the record-breaking effort in the 1867 Lounge.
Fans can become an official Guinness World Records title holder themselves simply by eating a slice after the attempt has taken place and to prove it they will be able to purchase an official certificate of participation.
Preparations for the event have already been taking place behind the scenes at Hillsborough with a mountain of ingredients that includes:
278kgs of flour
277kgs of butter
277kgs of sugar
The Record attempt on Sunday starts at 11.00am in the 1867 Lounge - come and join us as we seek to put Wednesday into the record books!
