Owls announce 150th anniversary dinner

2 August 2017

Sheffield Wednesday are delighted to announce details of a celebratory black tie dinner to mark the club’s 150th anniversary.

It was way back on 4 September 1867 when Wednesday were born and the upcoming 2017/18 season represents a milestone year in our long and illustrious history.

To mark the exact date of the anniversary, on Monday 4 September, the Owls will host the gala dinner at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

Ponds Forge is widely recognised as one of the leading live venues in Yorkshire and supporters are invited to join us for what promises to be an unforgettable evening.

Wednesday legends of the past and stars of the present – together with chairman Dejphon Chansiri – will be in attendance as we reflect on 150 years of Sheffield Wednesday.

The event will be hosted by highly acclaimed television and radio broadcaster Mark Clemmit, who will bring his inimitable style to proceedings.

Mark has worked extensively for a raft of broadcast organisations and is currently one of the most sought after hosts on the circuit.

On the entertainment front, lifelong Wednesdayite Paul Pashley and his six-piece band will bring swing music with a modern twist to the evening.

Paul is renowned for his stunning vocal performance, playing exclusive events worldwide at the request of leading celebrities in the sporting and entertainment industry.

Elsewhere, the ‘Sheffield Wednesday Dream Scene’ will be officially unveiled, with artist Jamie Cooper flying all the way from Australia to debut the unique dressing room Owls painting.

And one lucky fan will go home with a coveted canvas - from just 150 manufactured - of the Dream Scene following a special prize draw!

Throw in classic video footage on giant screens, live and silent auction, sumptuous three-course dinner, interviews with true Wednesday legends and the opportunity to enjoy a true VIP experience and you have the perfect blue and white night.

Tickets are tiered at categories of bronze, silver and gold and priced at £100, £125, and £175 +VAT respectively.

The exclusive gold package, with strictly limited numbers, offers the chance to rub shoulders with the star guests in an intimate environment before taking up the best seats in the house.

Tickets for this event will sell out fast so supporters are urged to book their places as soon as possible.

Individual tickets or a table of ten can be purchased by calling our dedicated events team on 0114 3240526 or emailing swfc150@swfc.co.uk

We look forward to a fantastic evening!
