Nathan Pearson, a student at the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme, achieved a gold medal at the 2017 Special Olympics.

The games were held in Sheffield earlier this month, with Nathan, 19, receiving his coveted medal when his Yorkshire and Humberside team triumphed in the 7-a side football tournament.

It was a double celebration for Nathan, who completed his BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in 2016.

Gaining the qualification allowed him to begin studying a foundation degree in Community

Football Coaching and Development based at the SWFCCP in partnership with the EFL and University of South Wales.

Congratulations Nathan….Sheffield Wednesday are excited to continue to help and witness his career prosper.
