Forestieri on track

1 December 2017

Owls star Fernando Forestieri is on track with his recovery and making positive strides towards his return to action.

The former Watford man underwent knee surgery back in September but could be back in the frame as soon as January.

Wednesday’s top scorer for the past two seasons, with 15 and 12 goals respectively, continues to make steady progress and Carlos Carvalhal said:

“About Forestieri, with the information that I have, he has started running. He is one day yes and one day no at this moment.

“He is everything ok, no pain, no big problems so let’s see. My expectation is still that he can be back in January.

“We will see if he continues going in this good way.”

Likewise with George Boyd, the ex-Burnley man is edging closer to a return, as is midfield general Sam Hutchinson.

“The positive news is that George Boyd for sure will be back in the beginning of the New Year to start normal.

“And this month Sam Hutchinson will be back, he is doing really very well with his recovery. We have expectations that he will be back to the training this month.

“The negative is that Tom Lees will be out of this Hull game absolutely sure. He’s not a doubt, he will be out for this game.”
