Young Wednesday defender Frederik Nielsen has extended his contract with the Owls until June 2019.
The Danish centre half has been a key figure in the Owls’ Under-23s team this season, enjoying success so far as they lie top of the PDL2 table, and he is looking forward to progressing at Hillsborough.
Nielsen told swfc.co.uk: “I am very happy to be extending at Wednesday.
“I’ve been here for six months now and I think it’s been going well and I’ve been playing a lot of games for the Under-23s, so hopefully I can progress from here.
“There was a bit of pressure for me, with the team winning the league last season, to come in and settle in as a new player, but I think it’s gone really well and we’re top of the table at the moment.
“I think I’ve progressed since I signed here and the manager has been great with me.
“I’m buzzing to be here.”
