The formula we have

14 December 2017

Carlos Carvalhal acknowledges that Wednesday have a huge task on their hands on Friday when the league leaders come to town.

Table-toppers Wolves visit Hillsborough on Friday night in front of the Sky cameras and Carlos says the Owls must rise to the occasion with big heart and commitment.

“This is the formula we have - big heart and big commitment and let’s fight, along with the fans, to get a good result,” he told swfc.co.uk.

“We must play with big heart and commitment and believe we can win this game – this is the most important.

“We must be very concentrated about the opponents, they have some players that don’t belong to the Championship that are top level.”

While frustrated with the number of players out through injury, the head coach says it is vital to give confidence to the team, who are ready for the challenge, adding:

“We have prepared for this game very well, worked hard in the training and we are ready for a difficult match.

“We understand we are playing the best team I have seen in this Championship in the past two seasons and a half.

“Not just because they have individual but they also have collective quality with good organisation.

“So tomorrow, we have a big, big challenge.

“We will try to explore the few weak points they have to the maximum.

“We never prepare a game to do anything but win. We will give confidence to the players we have at this moment and let’s play.

“If you ask me would I like all the players fit to give more options to the 11, then of course I would prefer to choose with these additions.

“We have 19 players available, I am happy with them, they are very good players but we are frustrated with the injuries. This is the reality and we must get behind the team.”
