Carlos looks forward to Latics challenge

3 February 2017

The Owls are back on the road for the third successive time this evening.

After trips to Brighton and Bristol City, Wednesday are on their travels again to Wigan tonight for the televised Sky Bet Championship clash.

After a busy week on the transfer front for Wigan, which saw the Latics bring in no fewer than eight new additions to the squad, manager Warren Joyce could make changes for the visit of the Owls.

But Carlos says he is more concerned with the performance of his side and explained:

“Wigan have brought a lot of players to the club in this transfer window.

“We don’t know exactly how they will play, if they will change their face completely from the last game.

“We don’t expect an easy game for sure but we are more concerned about what we do and how we can improve our team.

“We focus on this more than looking too much to our opponents, respecting Wigan.

“We don’t have easy games in this competition and Wigan of course have value and have some transformation. They can put a new face on the team.”

Carlos added: “But for sure they will play against a strong and ambitious team, a team that deserved to win the last match. We have confidence for this game.

“It will be an interesting game, it will be on TV and we have expectations we can do a good game.”

Watch highlights from the last meeting between the Owls and Wigan from Saturday 10 September at Hillsborough.
