Hutchinson back for Wednesday

8 February 2017

Sam Hutchinson is available for selection on Friday evening.

The midfielder has served his two-match suspension and is in contention to feature in the televised clash against Birmingham at Hillsborough.

Carlos Carvalhal said: “We all know Sam and his qualities. Sam is a player with energy and with the way that he plays, he is an important player and we have him back.

“But to me all the players are important and I don’t want to give more importance to one than another. But of course we are happy with more options.”

While Hutchinson is available, there are question marks regarding duo Tom Lees and Gary Hooper.

On a positive though for the Owls, Morgan Fox could make his home debut after missing out at Wigan and Will Buckley is edging closer to his first team return.

The head coach added: “We still have some time before the game but we have some doubts about Tom Lees to recover and Gary Hooper.

“Tomorrow we will probably know if they are available or not. Morgan Fox is OK and training normal.

“Buckley is in training, he did 70 minutes with under-23 in the week and is progressing day by day but training normal.”

Striker Steven Fletcher will serve the final game of his three-match ban.
