Parting treat for young Owl!

9 February 2017

Young Owls supporter Callum got the chance to meet his Wednesday hero Fernando Forestieri, just days before moving to New Zealand with his family.

Callum, who has autism, wanted to meet his idol before making the 11,000 mile journey to his new home country.

And after hearing of his intentions, the Owls invited the youngster and his dad Mark to our Middlewood Road training ground to meet their Wednesday heroes for pictures and autographs.

Callum’s number one target was Forestieri and the Italian striker was more than happy to oblige,  even sitting down for an impromptu photo session!

Callum has attended almost every game at Hillsborough this season and will continue to support Wednesday from afar.

Dad Mark said: "To all the staff and players that took time out of their busy schedules to meet Callum, pose for photos and sign autographs, thank you, it means the world to Callum.

“Whilst he may have been shy and withdrawn please know that you have made a real difference to a little boy who views the world differently to the rest of us.

“Good luck for the rest of the season, WAWAW."

Callum added: “We’re not all Wednesday because some people support other clubs, but Sheffield Wednesday are the best!”

Everyone at Sheffield Wednesday sends their best wishes to Callum and his family for their new adventure in New Zealand.

We look forward to welcoming them back to Hillsborough in the future!
