Push the players

20 February 2017

Carlos Carvalhal has called on the fans to push the players as much as they can on Tuesday evening.

After a busy month so far, the Owls have posted four wins from four and now face another tough challenge in Brentford at Hillsborough.

The Bees head to S6 fresh after a fixture-free weekend and Carlos believes the fans can help with his side’s energy levels.

“We are concentrated on the next game and just this,” he said. “We don’t live with the past, we focus on the future.

“The confidence of the team is more high when we win. We understand that we must be focused, we are winning games because we are acting like a team very well.

“We can’t lose this kind of vibe.

“We play against Brentford who didn’t play last weekend, after playing five games in a short time.

“Exactly after the game, I appealed to our fans to understand the situation and try to upgrade the team with their support.

“Our fans can help the team, if they support the players they will have a good energy.

“If you are in a positive environment, the players will respond in one way. If in the work the people give good feedback and push them to do better and better everybody in the office would do better.

“Football players even more so because they have the crowd and have the environment very near them.

“They have emotions and when the emotional environment is positive, it is normal for players to respond with positives.”

He added: “Tomorrow, I am asking our fantastic fans to push the players as much as they can.”
