Working to improve the team

13 February 2017

Carlos Carvalhal says the team are full of confidence after back to back wins and clean sheets.

For the second week running in front of the Sky Sports cameras, the Owls emerged with three points on Friday evening with a 3-0 win over Birmingham at Hillsborough.

This followed a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Wigan the previous week but despite Wednesday’s good run, the head coach insists there is plenty his side can improve upon, as he explained:

“We don’t think that just because we won, everything was perfect.

“Just the same that when we lose, not everything is bad. There are positive things when we lose and negative things when we win.

“For sure, there are more positives from Friday than negatives but all the time there are things to correct, improve and do better.

“This is why we are training all the time to prepare the games, to improve the team and to try to correct the mistakes.

“But of course after the game we are more positive and have more confidence than when we started, absolutely sure.”

The Owls host Blackburn on Tuesday evening and Carlos says everyone in the camp is fully focused on another tough Sky Bet Championship test.

“When we win two games in a row, confidence is more high,” he added. “Confidence is very important to a player and to a team but we must all the time keep working and be 100% focused to try to improve, even when we are with a good win like last time.”
