A better panorama

19 January 2017

Head coach Carlos Carvalhal is happy with the options available ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Brighton.

Wednesday travel to the South Coast in good shape and on the back of a big win last time out against Huddersfield.

Victory over the Terriers moved the Owls five points clear in the play-off picture and Carlos told swfc.co.uk:

“When I said in December that we had a lot of problems in the team, it was a reality.

“But now the panorama is much better, there are players that recover, we have more options, a lot of players in the training today.

“Some of them are back now starting training, they are not fit yet but they have started training, like Abdi, Urby also Gary Hooper is training all the week normal.

“Fletcher after a little pain has come back to the training 100%. The panorama is better, a lot better. So it’s good news.”

Wednesday will monitor Callum McManaman (illness) ahead of the Friday’s clash at The Amex and Carlos added:

“He trained Tuesday but was sick on Wednesday. So it depends on his reaction. We will see if he will be included or not but he will probably be ok.

“We prefer to be with all the players ready and give us a headache because of more options.

“It’s one thing is when you go to a game and you have all your attackers available to play but it’s another thing when you do a list and you don’t have Fernando, you don’t have Hooper, you don’t have Fletcher, who is playing with some pain.

“This makes a massive difference for sure.”
