A standout group

17 January 2017

Vincent Sasso stored more valuable game time under the belt this week having played the full 90 minutes of the 4-1 win over Bolton.

The Frenchman coupled an assuring defensive presence with an outstanding headed goal, alongside three more from George Hirst, James Murphy and Sean Clare to send Wednesday to the top of the table.

The 25-year-old feels the current crop of youngsters are a standout group who rightly deserve the plaudits considering their hard work and commitment to date.

He said: “I like playing alongside them because they have a lot of good players. They try to play the ball and it is nice.

“As long they give their best, they will be up there because they are good players.

“Individual qualities make them stand out. There are different styles of players, and as a team they play well. So I think they have quite a good future.”

Sasso added: “When you are young, the more times you play, the better you get, because you get the experience.

“So, as long as they remain serious and keep working hard, they’ll get better and play at a higher level.”
