Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson says the Robins’ new facilities at Ashton Gate will hopefully provide a boost ahead of tonight’s Championship clash with the Owls.

City and Wednesday will use the stadium’s new dressing room facilities and tunnel for the first time and Johnson hopes the new and improved scenery will help end his side’s eight-game losing streak.

Johnson said: “Being in the new facilities can be a boost for us. I wanted to change the environment for the players and we had a training session at the stadium last week.

“It’s those little one per cents which help the players and it just makes everything easier for us. It also shows signs of progression again and it’s been a long time coming.

“I can’t thank everyone who has worked so hard to get them ready for tonight. They’ve been working around the clock for us.

“You can definitely get a buzz with anything new. If you move into a new house then you’re excited to show people around!

“It can be a new beginning for us hopefully.

“It’s a big week for sure. We want six points and we have to work very hard to achieve that.

“We must embrace the Sheffield Wednesday game before anything else. They’re a top side but we’re a good side as well.”
