Palmer sets new milestone target

13 January 2017

Delighted to have featured in 150 games for the Owls, Liam Palmer has now set his sights on his next target at Hillsborough.

The academy product is enjoying every moment playing for his boyhood club and is excited for the future.

Having hit 150 games last time out in the cup clash with Middlesbrough, Palmer is now aiming to edge closer to a double-century of appearances and said:

“I was told before the game I was approaching my 150th, it’s a good milestone to hit but now I want to try and get to 200.

“Sheffield Wednesday is the only club I’ve ever known, it’s rare these days you get a player who is a one-club man, obviously I had a stint out on loan but I’ve played here all my career and I’d like to continue to do so.

“The club is going in the right direction, the foundations are there so it’s exciting for the future.”

He added: “You can see the fans are with us, the fans can see we are going in the right direction and that’s what you need.

“We’ve got other teams in our sights and that’s who we are trying to chase down.”
