We can get better

20 January 2017

Sam Hutchinson has been clear with his assessment of the Owls’ current run.

Unbeaten in six, with six clean sheets and six wins from the last ten games has seen Wednesday move five points clear in the play-offs.

But the in-form midfielder believes it can get even better for Sheffield Wednesday.

Wednesday head to The Amex this evening as underdogs but the Owls have prevailed in similar circumstances this season, with the nearest comparison the victory over Newcastle at St James’ Park on Boxing Day in front of the live cameras.

Ready as ever for the next challenge, Hutchinson told swfc.co.uk:

“We’re delighted by how we’ve been playing. We know there is room for improvement, we want to get better and we know we can.

“Football is a funny game. Against Huddersfield, we weren’t performing how we know we could in the first half but in the second, we were like our normal selves.

“Now we look forward, we have another big game to look forward to and we seem to perform well in the Sky games. It’s a big game like they all are but with the group of players we have, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if we came away with the points.

“It’s a harder league this season, the players are stronger, the teams are stronger but given the way we are playing and the belief we have, we’ll go to Brighton with confidence.
