Carlos Carvalhal was pleased with his side’s performance on their first pre-season outing this summer.
The Owls put five past National League side Alfreton in a dominant display and the head coach is happy with the early signs.
It’s the third time in three years Wednesday have travelled to The Impact Arena in pre-season, with the previous two ending as 1-1 draws.
Carlos said: “In the last two seasons we’ve come here and drawn the both games 1-1 but we are doing better than last season.
“It is not everything but of course it is better to win than lose in these games. The purpose of the games is to prepare the team
“At the same time, if you can compare something to last season, then you want to do better. We did better this time so it’s a good start.”
He continued: “After one week of work, we are achieving a good rhythm, very fast because the type of the training and what we request to the players is already inside the body, so it is like remembering and it is more easy for the players.
“They connect very fast in the technical and tactical conditions. This is only the beginning but of course we are happy.”
