Westwood looks forward to Rangers test

28 July 2017

With one game left to play in pre-season, Keiren Westwood has reflected positively on the Owls’ summer preparations.

Rangers represent the final test on Sunday and the Owls goalkeeper is looking forward to stepping back out at Hillsborough.

Westwood played another 90 minutes in midweek as Wednesday defeated Doncaster 2-1 and the Republic of Ireland international is ready for the big period ahead.

He said: “We have a big game on Sunday and then an even bigger game the week after so there is plenty of preparation to be done but I'm sure we will be bang at it come Preston.

"It should be a decent game on Sunday. There will be a good crowd and atmosphere and it will be another game under our belts.

"I was happy to get another 90 minutes at Doncaster and it’s always nice to win the games.

“But we don't read too much into the results. It will be a different kettle of fish come Preston.

“At this stage, it’s all about getting the minutes under your belt and getting ready for the start of the season.”

The Owls’ pre-season meeting with Rangers is all ticket and Owls fans have until 5.00pm today (Friday 28 July) to purchase their tickets.
