The Owls’ first confirmed fixture of the 2017/18 campaign was revealed on Friday as Wednesday drew Chesterfield in round one of the Carabao Cup.
The game will take place week commencing 7 August.
It will be the first cup clash between the two sides since the dramatic JPT meeting back in October 2010.
It was Wednesday who progressed to the Northern Area quarter final with an 8-7 penalty shootout victory over the Spireites.
Nicky Weaver was the hero of the night after saving three penalties and emphatically converting one of his own as the Owls triumphed at Hillsborough.
