Owls Under-23 captain Jack Stobbs wants to round off a terrific term by scooping the PDL2 National Championship on Friday evening.

The Wednesday Development Squad have already lifted the PDL2 North title having finished in top spot after an extremely successful campaign.

And the Owls have the opportunity to add a second trophy to the cabinet tomorrow at Hillsborough.

Having defeated Millwall in the semi finals, Neil Thompson’s side will now face Hull, who overcame Charlton on penalties at The Valley in midweek.

Stobbs said: “It’s been a great season for us, we are a very close bunch, we stick together on and off the pitch and that has shown in our performances.

“We’ve pulled through when results haven’t quite gone our way but we have been with confidence all season and now we are looking forward to the final.”

The Tigers finished the season two points below the Owls in the PDL2 North.

They met twice in the regular season; a 2-0 win to Hull in the first and a 3-2 Owls victory in the second.

Stobbs expects a close-fought game on Friday and continued: “It will be close. They are one of the best sides we have faced this season.

“They have many good players and like to get the ball down and play, like we do.

“We are focused on this game, we want to do the double and win the play-offs and it would be fantastic if we could do that.”

The game is set for a 7.00pm kick-off at Hillsborough and is priced £3 adults, £2 concessions and free for Season Ticket holders on presentation of a valid card.
