Major coup for Owls Community Programme

7 November 2017

The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme will be launching their new apprenticeship provision on Friday 24 November to meet the needs of employers in Sheffield and the wider region.

As a key stakeholder in the city through sport, and with a successful education and higher education programme, it’s a natural step for one of the country’s leading football education foundations to broaden its reach into apprenticeships.

Spencer Taylor, CSR Manager at the SWFCCP, said: “For many years the Community Programme has developed young people through sport who are highly ambitious and can make a serious impact in a range of business environments.

“We’re keen to support Sheffield’s future talent into full time employment with training through apprenticeships, whilst also bringing employers closer to the work of the Community Programme.

“We’ll be developing a range of apprenticeships to meet employers’ needs, not just in sport, health and well-being where we excel, but also in business professions, including events management, customer practitioners, administration and management.”

To book a place at the breakfast launch on Friday 24 November, 7.30am in the Quixall Lounge at Hillsborough, please email education@swfc.co.uk to register.
