The Owls are supporting Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign on Saturday.
The national initiative aims to make sport everyone’s game, and to mark the occasion a new Wednesday supporters group has formed.
‘Proud Owls’ has been created for Wednesdayites identifying as LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) and allies.
The new group will be working to create a space for LGBT and ally fans to meet and socialise ahead of both home and away matches, as well as working with the club to voice the needs and concerns of LGBT fans.
Founder member of the Proud Owls, Matt Cooper, said: “The positive response from the club has been amazing.
“We're really looking forward to getting more Wednesdayites involved and breaking down barriers to make sure LGBT fans feel they are part of the Wednesday family."
