Owls student receives England call-up

A second year student at the Sheffield Wednesday Education Centre, Aidan Nagi, who studies BTEC Football Development with The Sheffield College, has been called up to represent his country.

Aidan, 17, has been competing in trials over the past month for the England Colleges National Men’s team.

The final phase of high quality trials at Sheffield Hallam University resulted in the Owls Community Programme student becoming one of 24 players in the elite England squad.

His training will start on Wednesday 13 December followed by a game against the Independent Schools FA on 14 December.

Aidan said: ”I’m proud to represent the England Colleges and hope this will be a major step to forwarding my footballing career.”

He also went on to praise the Football Development BTEC course, saying all the teachers and coaches have been very supportive in both his academic and football pathways.
