A consistent level

16 October 2017

Carlos Carvalhal cut a frustrated figure following the Owls’ 2-1 reverse at Bolton on Saturday.

The head coach has called for a more consistent level moving forward from his side after dazzling against Leeds but falling short at the Macron.

Big decisions have, without question, gone against the Owls in recent games - and have proved costly to add to the frustrations.

But Carlos insists with more consistency in the performance levels, everything remains left to fight for this season.

“We will fight to the last minutes with heart, we work hard for Sheffield Wednesday, me and my staff,” he said.

“We came into the weekend on the back of a fantastic performance against Leeds, we put the same formation but we understand football.

“After Leeds, the things are perfect and when we lose, everything is wrong.

“But it’s not like this. I believe there is a middle ground between the things, we are not far away in terms of the points from the positions above.

“We are still fighting to those positions, it is a very hard competition and all teams will lose points.”

A trip to Derby is next-up for the Owls this weekend and Carlos added:

“Of course, we believe we can fight for the promotion this season.

“But we must correct the things, we must do better and be more consistent and that is something we are missing – the consistency.”
