Owls set for physical test

31 October 2017

Loanee Jacob Butterfield says Wednesday are prepared for a physical battle this evening as Millwall travel to Hillsborough.

The Owls are aiming to return to winning ways and the 27-year-old says there is a good spirit in the camp ahead of the Lions clash.

The midfield man told swfc.co.uk: “I’m expecting a physical game.

“Millwall play a direct and physical game. We have to stand up to that but we need to out-perform them to win the game.

“The mood in camp is still very good. We still believe in what we’re doing and that we are going about things in the right way and I think that’s important.”

It was frustration at full time on Saturday as Barnsley held the Owls to a 1-1 draw.

Carlos Carvalhal’s side were unable to register that all-important second goal before the Reds hit a spectacular leveller.

“We need to be more efficient,” Butterfield added. “What we do between both boxes is very good and the way we play football is very good.

“We’ve got to find a way to stop conceding and be more ruthless in front of goal to get what we deserve from these games.

“Things are seeming to go against us at the moment but getting clean sheets is going to be important for us.”
